I can't imagine such a good manager being out of work very long.

I stand corrected.

Whatever you want to think. Don't let facts get in the way though eh?

Yes , just seen that on Twitter. Not a great decision by Jim as some of us thought at the time. Goal-scorers are as rare as rocking horse manure.

I thought at times that I would have liked to see Podge instead of Jack, but Jack was doing the job. I'm sure if we'd known Blackpool were going to come in for Jack a few months later, we'd have kept Podge. But we didn't.
Good luck to him.

Totally. Podge was an out and out goalscorer and Jack was pretty much lame who had flashes of quality. Podge could have hit 20 a season if used correctly.

I hate having to go over this again and again but here are his goalscoring records at League 2 level:
11/12 - Accrington - 8 goals in 45 appearances
12/13 - Accrington - 9 goals in 43 appearances
13/14 - Morecambe - 11 goals in 49 appearances
14/15 - Morecambe - 10 goals in 41 appearances
16/17 - Hartlepool - 14 goals in 49 appearances
17/18 - Newport - 15 goals in 55 appearances
This idea that he's a 20 goal a season striker and we mismanaged him is complete nonsense. His record shows that he's good for on average around 12 goals a season at this level before this season where he's in the best form of his career and has 21 goals in 45 games.
He was a good player for us, the logic behind letting him go when we did was sound. Some players we let go will end up doing better at other clubs, this is the nature of football and we'll have had many players in the past who have excelled with us having previously been let go by other clubs. There is no need to use Podge as a stick to beat Jim with.
