Can't see Thommo at a Championship club all season somehow.

Hows about a loan to CP.....??????

Good luck to thommo next season in championship - no reason why he cant play there just look at michael knightley and dj campbell both ex non league and they played there last season

Thommo's just about good enough for the championship imo but he's fast approaching 30 so realistically its unlikely he'll be there too long. Could well return to MFC.

As much as I rated Thommo for us, he isn't a Championship player IMO. I watch a lot of Championship football (Forest mainly) and the higher up the pyramid you go the more consistent your performance needs to become. Not doubting his talent, but he often went off the boil for us which perhaps explains why he didn't get a move earlier on in his career. I will watch with interest how he gets on next season anyhow.

Thommo has been out for long spells with injury, but when fit he wasn't a regular at league one level for Scunny, so I can't see how he would feature much next season at a higher level. I believe he is on silly money at Scunthorpe, with another 2 years left on his contract. So in terms of him coming back for a loan stint; I doubt that we would be able to put up a big enough percentage of his weekly wage to interest Scunny.

You believe he is on silly money :?:

On what factual source do you make that bold statement :?:

Was Renee Howe on silly money :?: :?:

Good to see him celebrating at the end and walking up those steps again. :D
Best of luck whatever he does, Morecambe leg-end.

Perhaps I should've said good money. What was refreshing about Thommo, was that by all accounts he actually turned down a better wage from Bradford to play at a higher level. Incidentally I remember the Bradford chairman baffled by Thommo's decision to choose Scunny over Bradford as in his opinion Bradford would be above Scunthorpe in three years.......might have to rethink that one!

Nevertheless what I've been told from one or two he is on more money than we could afford, having turned down the opportunity to become the clubs highest paid player prior to joining Scunthorpe. I don't actually know what he is on (hence the I believe part). He only managed 8 full games last season.

Rene Howe is on silly money if £3k a week rumours be true. If we did pay half of that wage (again, as per rumour) then you've also got to question that. Say he was here for 40 weeks......£60,000 for 10 league goals? Silly money. Especially when he can’t be bothered to get up for our penultimate league game.

There's a possibility that he could be released. If he was we should sign him.

I don't beleive he'd be released with Scunthorpe having to pay up the last 2 years of his contract as a lump sum. More realistically, if he's not needed, stuck on the transfer list and have the word put about he'd be available for a bargain price. At a guess.
