OT Dave's Day

OT Dave's Day

No Football talk, just a question any of you planning to pop over to Barrow for the Dave's Day activities across the Bay?
I am riding up from the Ace Cafe with the main crew, great opportunity to pay respects for one half of the Hairy Bikers who lost his battle with Cancer recently also to contribute to a couple of charities being the NSPCC and Cancer research.
My plan is to do the ride visit some of the activities in Barrow before bedding down in Morecambe and visiting Eric's statue as I usually do when I am in the area.

Might be an interesting Day for the area.

Hope the weather is decent for you all. Looks like it could be another mixed bag this weekend. We've lost the entire day of racing at the TT today.

So how did that work out then?

Thanks Keith,
Was an amazing day, I started in Reading at my base down there and rode across to the Ace Cafe expecting difficulty getting into the car park, wow the place was rammed ended up being parked on the bridge over the road, usually a walk way but also rammed. This was a precursor as the thoughts were maybe 15k Bikes.
Cumbrian police are quoting 46,136 bikes on their roads, a 16 mile line of two bikes per lane rolling into Barrow.

Bikers behaved other road user behaved people on pretty much every bridge from the Ace to Barrow, the locals along the A590 were immense and showed their love for Dave in the best way.

Stayed over in Morecambe not far from Eric's statue.

Somebody needs to explain to me the boozer "The Pier" as nipped in for a pint and I am still lost for words.
Brilliant event and a fine tribute to the man.

The Central Pier used to be opposite the Pier Hotel until storms and then a fire circa 1987 caused it's demolition !
