David Fitzgerald

David (1st team coach and development) leaves the club with immediate effect as DA sets about restructuring his back room staff. David was brought in by Ged so no surprise really and I’m all for DA getting his own stall set out even tho this will attract some stick on social media from those not looking at the bigger picture

Hopefully a good sign that DA is not thinking of moving on in the very near future.

It's understandable that DA wants his own backroom team so no big surprise.

Hopefully we will learn in the coming days of who DA has taken on board as his trusted team.

Hmm... only because the article doesn't actually say that it was Derek's decision. Hopefully, it is Derek setting out who he wants, in what positions, and is a sign of development within the club. But equally, his departure could be further cost-cutting? New CEO yet to be announced? No Assistant Manager? New Finance manager required? We've got a lot of roles to fill. Until Whittingham is out of our club, I'm easily concerned.

I can't see a Who's Who on the new OWS.

Maybe they will put one on at some point.

I always get to games fairly early and I was amazed by the basic pre match drills put on by Fitzy. Lining up on the touchline and passing it 5, 10 and 15 feet for 20 minutes is more for under 12's than professional footballers.

They could be forgiven for not knowing who's who at the moment!

Doubt any new signings or back room staff will be confirmed until 1 July when new contracts come into being.

Still no news about whether JJ is staying but I suspect not. Could be that a few not offered new contracts earlier are now in the frame for a return under DA who brought the majority with him on previous occasions.

Derek mentioned in his return interview that he put out feelers on LinkedIn for backroom staff in anticipation of his next job. Said he got quite a few responses and some quite surprising.

Coaching Staff Vacancies

I am going to be recruiting for a First-Team Football Coach, First-Team Fitness & Conditioning Coach and First-Team Tactical Analyst to add to my Backroom Team in preparation for my next managerial position. Further details to follow….

Good shout....

I've noticed that Yann in particular was very supportive of our younger players towards the back end of last season and was full of encouragement to all his team mates.

Would be a well supported role amongst the fans.

I suppose it depends on what coaching qualifications he's got, or is working towards? Register as a player too, as a squad/back-up.

So do I BW, I was impressed with his encouragement and vocal support and advice when he was warming up down the touch line during the games

While general concern over the Jason situation is 100% warranted, this won't be related. Derek will want his own people in - same way the Robbo eventually got rid of McMahon. Fitzy very obviously Ged's man, you'd imagine he'd end up back at Accrington.
