I'm as interested as everybody else but until a deal is sorted any info about who they are is for the Bond Group and our BoDs in my opinion. We could scupper any deal if such info was made public at such a delicate stage in the process.

We've waited a long time for any deal. Another week or so isn't going to change things.

Ok except tell us that the deal is done and the submissions are in at the EFL. I would say if the submission is in they could tell us who it is, where’s the harm in that?

I can't believe there aren't any rumours about who the buyer is. If you were really interested in buying a club and enthusiastic normally people let it be known.

Call me cynical but I can only see dodgy deal with Johal on the table. Perhaps after all this time he's finally got a paper trail to pass the EFL checks

Not so sure because isn't the engineering company he bought already in the hands of the receivers....so can't see where the money will be coming from..... :?: :?: :?:

This will be a disaster if you're right. I really hope you're wrong as the board said ages ago that Johal would not be allowed to take over. If you're right I think the board are unaware of who the purchaser is or they would do everything they could to block it or resign.

I think and hope you are wrong.

I would think that would go against his bid as I should think the EFL will do a due diligence check and see he hasn’t got funds to see us through the season ?

I don't think it is Sarbjot.

Let's hope the board can issue another statement later in the week to update us on the state of play.

Any significance in the fact that the number of people who are online at Shrimpsvoices has dropped right back. It had been around 150 or more for a few weeks with 352 online on 3rd May to around the usual 15 to 20 lately ? Could it suggest that someone has already bought the club and the "competition" have stopped looking at the club ?

Sarbot is a front man, I would think with the lapse of time a paper trail could have been put together.

Even thou his company is in receivership he has not been struck off like Whittingham and Golding were, (That’s why they had to resign as directors, but they still owned the Club through The Bond Group).

The EFL could not step in as they had not broken the EFL rules once they resigned.

JW still said in his radio interview Sarbot’s bid had not been taken off the table, so with the silence we fans don’t know who will put a submission to the EFL, (if true!).

It’s still all a poor showing, we just hope it’s all done this week and any new owner is one that can take MORECAMBE FC forward.

I'll believe it when it happens, until then I will just presume that Jason is telling his usual lies to buy time/fend off the Board and fans.

It is quite unbelievable that we have no idea who could taking over the ownership of the club, even at Premier League level it is common knowledge by the time the EFL/Premier League are involved.

It makes me think it is just more smoke and mirrors from Jason or he's selling up to another cartoon evil villain.

I will hold off rejoicing until we know that it is happening and we find out just who the interested party is.

Jason must dislike the board intensely after they have stood up to him and called him out for the liar he is so why would he tell them the truth as to what is happening, or not?

As frustrating as the entire process has been to date I think we all need to calm down and stop making assumptions that it is the former bidder until it is announced officially one way or another.

I'm as frustrated as everybody else in the way Jason and Co have conducted this entire fiasco to date.

Sooner or later we will be told officially that the club has been sold.....when that will be is anybodies guess but to make assumptions on who it may be are wrong and until a name or names are officially made known we are all making assumptions with little if no evidence to support what is purely guess work.

By all means continue with this forums concerns about Jason and Co but let's be careful not to be a part of the continued Bond Group's pantomime.

Shrimps Trust update - An interested party has got in touch and let them know they had an above market value offer turned down in late 2023. One of the group had already been approved by the EFL in the past too. No reason given as to why Jason rejected this offer.

Interesting post from Trust on Twitter X stating they have had contact from a proposed group re buying. The Group is not that one referred to in the Board's statement but one that put in a bid at the end of 2023 which the Trust feel is in excess of club's worth. Also one of the group has already been approved by EFL!
Jason rejected the offer in 2023.

Why are some fans putting on social media that Sarbjot is the possible new owner when they don't have a clue

Let's see what happens first

I have a car to sell.
I have someone interested, but they've not made an offer.
I've told them, I have someone else who is interested, and has offered me full asking price, but can't buy it "until pay-day".

I'll either end up with the interested person getting a shift on, and making a good offer this week.
Or, they walk away, and with only an imaginary second person, I'm left with the bloody car that I'm still trying to sell, and the potential buyer looking somewhere else...

Obviously, that has nothing to do with anything...

I know the Trust are trying and wanting the Club to be sold like the rest of us, but it's simply nothing to do with us whether the owner keeps his asset or sells to whoever he wants at his price

Although what you say is quite right I'm glad of any sort of update. Good to see the Trust playing on the front foot as well.

Probably didn't match the offer made previously by Sarbjot which appears to be dictating Jason's requirement.

Don't think the Trust should refer to an offer that exceeds the Trust's own valuation which was based on what criteria.. :?: :?: :?:

Quite right Marky but you can't blame anyone for asking questions and dreading that it might be Sarbjot.

Is it a Sarb consortium?

Where did the money come from for this seasons budget? Another loan? Investment from a third party?

So .. I've not caught up re today's announcement properly. Is "the offer that was at an advanced stage" still on the table? Or are we back at square one?
