Should be proud of ourselves being able to attract that calibre. Let's not forget he was trusted by Klopp with their CB crisis ahead of more experience in the squad.

Great signing. Do you think we could also sign Harvey Elliott?

Liverpool website says he is commanding centre half. Sounds good. 6 months loan and probably brought in to cover the George Ray injury.

Is George Ray out for a long time, at least it fees up Songo.
Hopefully a few more to come in.

Once again a proven player that DA has been able to take on loan.

We all want a striker but finding the right one who is up for a loan is difficult but DA will know what we need and I'm sure is working tirelessly in finding the right player.

Excellent loan signing from Liverpool and is quality.

Delighted.

Think we are downplaying this. This is a guy who played premier league football as the only choice LIVERPOOL had. This guy has ability Klopp trusted rather than signing an emergency loan CB from a top club.

He's local links. Came through Cadley Boys amateur club who have a signed Liverpool shirt of his in the club house. Preston lad.

I'd guess that Liverpool might be paying his wages.

The only negative of this loan, is it is only until January!

I'm guessing he'll get match and general fitness with us, then head somewhere else in the transfer window if he does well. But, if that is the case, Liverpool may be happy to lend us more players going forwards?

Have Morecambe ever had a player that has played in the Champions League before?

Liverpool were actually Premier League Champions the season before, most teams in the competition aren't

Bizarrely the only one I can think of is that Scott Wootton, made two appearances in the CL for Man Utd.

Alan Kennedy obviously won the European Cup before it was re-branded as the Champions League if that counts.

Donald Love possibly? Might have been the Europa league he played in. Think I could probably name a few Europa appearance makers.

I'd certainly count Alan Kennedy, if anything it was harder to win back then with only the champions playing in it and no silly league format.

In the Northern Prem Lge back in 1978 we signed former England international Keith Newton.
Played 27 times for England and in all 6 of Evertons European Cup matches in 70-71.
Played in 33 lge & cup matches for us.
