I think he just knows that this group of players aren't the best in quality but they have been giving it everything and deserved the first win.

I disagree about the quality. There are some very good L2 players in that squad and we have competed well in the majority of games. Tom White looked more than decent yesterday and with the likes of Ray, Edwards, and Slew to come back in, we will move up the table quickly. Derek has worked a miracle getting this squad together on next to nowt and his coaching ability has turned them in to a solid unit.

How good is Jamie Stott by the way?

Phew! Massive sigh of relief for fans and players alike after yesterdays win. To do it against historical rivals Barrow was the icing on the cake. Somehow the post match beer tastes so much better after a game like that :D

Agreed about Derek. He had to throw a squad together at the last minute and now against all the odds he is getting a tune out of them.

I like Adam Lewis. He crosses a mean ball into the box and our strikers really need to gamble when he is on the ball because it's more than likely if they get into the right areas the ball will end up at their feet. Yesterday was a prime example.

I agree with the whole statement, but particular praising Stott. There have been some excellent performances all round, so he's not (as far as I recall) had a MotM yet. But in terms of consistent, excellence, he's my player of the season so far.

So how did that work out then?

I couldn’t go but watched it on Sky and all you could hear were the Morecambe fans all game.

As I have said before after watching (and enjoying) the Liverpool U21s and Notts Forest U21 games. It was glaringly obvious that their midfield players, in numbers 4-5, burst a gut to get in the box with the strikers when the ball is moved out wide and with Lewis’s ability of putting in quality balls time and again it will pay dividends. (Just need it on the other side as well).
We have seen it twice this week yesterday Tollitt ghosted in and from 6 yards out, it was on a plate. Same with Charlie on Tues night with his header. Take a bit of risk and get in the box, it will pay massive dividends, The opposition defenders will be too busy watching Dackers.
