I know what I'd like to call him, but then I'd have to ban myself from ShrimpsVoices!

We have to act NOW imho. We need protests. We need action before it's too late. We can't just sit in our hands and let the club we all love go to the wall.

We can protest till the cows come home but if Jason doesn't sell or get a credible buyer protests will do nothing to change things

It's all very well saying things like "the time for action is NOW" and "We can't just sit on our hands" but no one has come up with ideas of what the action should be and no one has stepped forward to organise or lead this "action".

The only ones who can lead any action is the Trust. They have been in contact with the Board, the EFL, other clubs who have been in the same situation, the MP, the media and Old Pigface himself and the simple answer appears to be legal action will get us nowhere and illegal action may give us something to vent our anger on but will only hasten the demise of the club. We are not just talking about dropping out the EFL but the actual DEMISE of the club.

The EFL can attempt to prevent crooks from taking over clubs but, when some slip through the net as they do, they cannot force them to relinquish their ownership.

How much longer will Derek stick it out? That would be the sign that we are really doomed.

I think fans need to calm down a bit. Sure, we have a rubbish owner but at least we have a team to support. We'd all like an owner to pump money in but until that happens, just get behind Derek and the team.

I think in general we do get behind the team and I hope that continues. We may vent our spleen on here but often it’s regarding the dodge pot Whittingham. As for protests against his ownership I doubt they will have any effect on him. He’s totally remote from the club down south and never appears at games, even in his own backyard. How and when this will all end none of us know but I agree that all we can do in the interim is support OUR club.

The only thing I can think of (and I've said it before) is a protest outside his house. It may not affect him but it would certainly attract the media. It would have to be well organised and within the law. The Trust have a fighting fund and should at least discuss the pro's and con's of this. Anyone support this idea, if so, I'll raise it with the trust.

There is plenty of talk of what actions we as fans can take next and hopefully we will see some organised protests taking place soon.

Totally agree about taking it to his doorstep, that is a must!

A truck load of rubbish!
Either your both wind-up merchants, which helps the Club doesn’t it if SOMEONE ELSE foolishly follows through with your call for action and oversteps the mark by going to far.

More protests, I take it peaceful, is that the best you can come up with?

Again just go and organise something, you might get somewhere, NOT!! Perhaps that’s why nothing has happened since the march. To him who hasn’t got a name we all can legitimately call him, I think he looks at the fans, I will remain polite, as nothing but blooming northern idiots.

Please put your energy into finding an avenue that comes up with a solution, that will get the majority of fans on your side and gets rid of him with no name, you could be the Clubs saviours, then look at the heroes you will be.

Oh, that is what you call a wind-up.

I await your pleasant reply, when you have come up with something.

Seen it mentioned on Twitter last night that the only thing that rattled him was when people got onto his facebook, instagram and other social media platforms. We did get some responses from him and he even did that TalkSport interview before he manipulated the situation and calmed things down.

That is a morally questionable approach so we definitely shouldn't do that again.

Didn’t he go on talk sport because the programme had a little section on
Morecambe FC’s plight and they highlighted what was happening at Morecambe FC, with an interview by someone who called him (with no new name, yet), out on the radio?
If my memory serves me right, the face book post was a failure because some fans overstepped the mark and brought his wife and children into the equation and he was able to highlight the abuse that was posted on line and Morecambe’s position he has put us in was lost somewhat.
It was a waste of time so don’t bother doing it again, especially the abuse to his wife and daughter, is that what some Morecambe fans are like?

A constructive conversation needed to find a new route, thinking caps everyone.

Yeah I guess thinking about it, we could find new ways to poke him and piss him off but will that really make him more likely to sell up or do us any favours? Probably not. If anything he could become even more stubborn. You'd like to think he's not so stubborn that he'd lose out on money by letting us die but who knows with that man.

What can we do then? I can't think of anything that might be productive outside of just trying to get more media attention on it all. We have tried and realised that they really just don't care as much as we'd think they would so we need to really ramp it up. I think the restructuring of the trust will be a benefit in achieving this.

We can type long winded posts on Shrimpsvoices all day every day that nobody is bothered about or we can take a stand. To sime people the football club is something to pass a bit of time on a weekend but to others it is a lot more than that. Sit on your hands and don't get involved, nobody is asking anything of you. To the ones that want to fight for the club, it's time to step it up.

I'm passionate about my club. My wife says I care more about the club than anything else (partially true :o ) and as much as I want to get involved in sorting this mess out I'm not sure what we fans can do that would have any truck with JW.

Various means of persuasion have been tried and failed. if he can't be bothered to reply to Radio Lancashire than I'm not confident that our input will make any blinding difference.

What worries me is the complete lack of communication from our excellent BoDs. It's as if JW has instructed them to remain silent.

I can only see that long term maybe even the short term that our club will no longer exist as we know it and that we will follow the likes of Scunthorpe and others into obscurity.

Personally I've no problem about relegation into the National League. FG did it and they are now riding high at the top of that league. Not suggesting for one minute that we would follow their lead but I'd rather be semi successful in that league than continue season on season in a dog fight against relegation.

Call me defeatist but survival of my and our club at whatever level is paramount.

Finally JW is winning every which way and we can do sweet fa about it other than continue to support our club and its BoDs. Maybe one day a new owner will appear on the horizon.....but I'm not holding out for a swift conclusion to this mess..... :( :( :(

I'm not so sure we would be semi successful even with most of our current team. Even the current budget would be long gone.
Quite a few thought dropping back from League One
would see us top half but that didn't exactly go well.

FGR have players on £4k and £5K a week, with a budget of at least 3 times ours
Enjoy yourself.... It is later than you think

Pontificate as much as I want he who has money name yet will do as he wants, it's about building something when he's gone. We could be organising for that, when or wherever that is.

Constructive Suggestion.
There's a danger that we're all getting stuck in the minutiae of speculation and interpretation of things said and things not said but hinted at; of things put out there as fact (like Jason making good money from loans) but not really substantiated.
Kieran Maguire and particularly Martin Calladine on X have done some research and written about Sarb Capital and their questionable business history. But it's spread over a lot X posts.
We have journalists, or retired jounalists, who are passionate about the club. Derek Quinn, Glen Cooper, David Jones and maybe others?
I'd find it very useful to have an up to date account of what we really know and where we really are. It would / may also be useful for anyone with influence who wants an honest (as possible) and clear summary of this rolling problematic sale. "Anyone" may include local MP, Lizzi Collinge, secretary of state for C,M and S, Lisa Nandy, the EFL.
Do any of you with a journalistic past or present not fancy doing a succinct article of what we actually know and using your connections to get it out there for national coverage?

It's good to see the passionate support for the club on here even if we can't all agree what can/should be done. It's also good to see recognition that the Trust is now doing a good job in trying to find out what is happening and passing that information on to us. I think the time has come now that any true Morecambe fan should be a member of the Trust, the bigger the membership the stronger its voice. It also gives you the chance to have a say in what happens in the future because, make no mistake, the Trust will have a part to play in the outcome of all this. They are the only way forward in giving the fans a voice.

I agree Bare Bum getting a journalist on board is a good idea. I know there was one journalist who did some work on Whittingham and his pal after what happened to Worcester Warriors and it made the national press, so yes a great idea.
I recently sent an email to Panorama the investigating journalist program. Within it I put forward the problems of Morecambe FC and asked if the program would do a programme on the national game when you focus on the EFL (rather than the Premiership), and how for these Clubs it’s often dire when things go wrong because of their owners and to use Morecambe as an example.
For myself it would show how rotten and inept the current system is over the issue of bad ownership and if they used Morecambe FC as an example that is on, say, a path similar to the one Bury FC ended up.
Just me doing it means it was probably just read and then binned, but a concerted effort by fans may wake them up?
