Interesting my family in the Chesterfield end said dackers was our best player and in the first half they couldn't cope with him

However he is never going to score but does he need better players around him for the second ball.

It's sad to say but unless the club is sold and a Derek gets a big pile of money for the January transfer window then we are down. No disrespect to the players but we are just not good enough to survive this league..

I'm not bothered 1 bit if you agree with me or not Lancaster Shrimp

Most issues at the club are down to Jason but Derek is in charge of the team and making 1 sub is silly when there is options on the bench especially at 2 2 cos they looked quite shaky at the back

But hey ho it's all about opinions that's why it's called a forum

Relapsed_Shrimp wrote:One sub in 90 minutes and 5 available? That's just unacceptable. Simple as that.

We are finished and performances this season have got nothing to do with the ownership ... Just not enough effort all over the pitch.

Dackers is so poor, one of the worst I've seen up top for us ever.

Different opinions. I thought Dackers was really good today, trouble is that there was no one near him for him to pass/head to when he won the ball - no support at all.

The team are knackered after successive games inc Tuesdays and it shows. We fought them for the first half but were knackered after 60 minutes.

Derek didn't have any quality on the bench worth swapping for - it's bare bones due to the injuries, and even with a fit squad, the calibre of most players (even our best) aren't good enough for this league.

Making more subs wouldn't have changed the game. Derek's only sub was Edwards to give him a bit of game time to help get him fit ready for a proper return to the starting 11 hopefully in a couple of weeks. Looking at that bench, we'd have still lost had he made another 3/4 subs.

Yes it's been a shocking start but as results stand today at ht we are only 4 points from safety which is crazy

What was all the nonsense with stewards targeting the fans with balloons? Since when are balloons against the club/EFL rules?

If that was Board sanctioned action, then I'm disgusted with the Board. If stewards took it on themselves, they need re-training or sacking.

They made a change when they realized they needed to control Dackers and brought on 4 subs wish fresh legs that ran us ragged.

Compare that with our Manager who refuses game after game to use his subs when certain players are knackered and it's when you are knackered that mistakes are made.

Up until they got their 3rd we seemed to be holding them but then the sub came on and their fresh legs changed the game.

I've supported DA time after time but his record with us to date and that in Scotland would suggest he's lost that winning mentality. Maybe it's time for him to talk to the Bods and admit that his style of play is not what will get us out of the current problem and offer to move on and let his Assistant have a crack at it.

JW is the problem without doubt but DA has to accept that his team selctions and tactics are not going to change.

Genuinely sorry DA and thanks for some excellent memories but it's time to call it a day...... :( :( :(

As has been said..a very good game to watch for a neutral. We had the better of them in the first half but their subs brought real quality onto the pitch, quality we don't have. I'll be surprised if they aren't well in the promotion mix at the end of the season.

We're a willing team in most games but lack anything like the cutting edge needed. Having said all that I'm not giving up hope quite yet (hope with a small h) as in our 14 games we have played 10 of the top half teams. November and December will show where we really stand.
If we can end the year with another 16 or17 points playing the lower teams and if Derek is still with us I think we are still in with a chance. :?

Why would you think his assistant could do better? What is his pedigree as regards management?

We gave Brannan a shot of being manager after being the assistant, and he was no better, in fact a lot worse.

The REAL problem is we've no money for decent players and some of our "best" players are injured. Derek can't do anything about that. His assistant can't do anything about that.

All we can do is sit and wait until the January transfer window. Then we have to hope that Jason has sold to someone reputable who has funds and gives our manager a decent additional budget to bring in some top quality players to get us climbing the table out of the drop zone.

You could bring in Mourinho or Klopp as manager, but their hands would be tied with the players we've got just as Derek's are.

There is no magic bullet here. It's all in Jason and the Board's hands to give Derek the funds to bring in players to get us out of this mess.

Which of the injured players would be guaranteed a place in our starting 11... :?: :?: :?:

I can only think of a couple in Ray and Edwards...the rest are no better than those who regularly appear week after week.

Waiting until January for a miracle is wishful thinking.

Even one of the clubs most loyal supporters who has been through the good times and the bad commented to me post match that he feels we are doomed. Who can argue with him... :?: :?: :?:

I agree, but what can a different manager actually do differently that would make a difference? Especially someone who has no experience as being a manager? It just smacks of desperation really, a matter of hope over logic.

Change tactics for one and pick Brown for another.

As for Managerial experience he was a successful Manager at Workington until he called it a day.

OK can't compare like for like but tactically a change is needed and only a new man in charge can do that.

He is constantly shouting the the players to get forward. Something we very rarely hear from DA.

Looks like 2 from 7/8 for the drop at the moment

I thought a few things emerged from today's game.
1. Relegation is a distinct possibility.
2. The squad lacks quality- in midfield and up front.
3. Dackers will win lots of balls in the air but will get you few goals.
4. Moore in goal is weak low to his left and for me was responsible for several of Chesterfields goals.
5. Chesterfield are a mid-table side not a promotion outfit.
6. Right back is a problem area.
7. No investment in January and we are sunk.

Just listened to Paul Cook interview.. What a great guy and manager he really is could listen to him for hours

Praised Morecambe and also Dackers.. Said we didn't deserve the scoreline

Also said that the players couldn't have given Derek anymore

Funny how people see things different

I also thought Dackers played OK and was a handful.

Chesterfield will finish in the play offs

I was just going to mention this too. Very complementary, fair play to him! Here's the link:

Sorry if I come across as negative but I'm totally deflated with what's going on at my club which I've supported for over 40 years

Spent lots of money like lots of others and it's soul destroying to see the way it is.. I've travelled to obscure players and also travelled to watch Morecambe play at pompey, spurs, sheff wed, forest, Brentford and Bournemouth so the way things are right now hurts me as much as everyone else

Here’s a question, does Tollitt understand the game?
Why doesn’t he get back to help Hendrie, Hendrie is often isolated out wide by the opposition mostly in a one on one situation and the Chesterfield sub had him the minute he came on.
Tollitt has to realise he has to help his fullback a dam site more than he does. You cannot just leave it to White all the time, he has other players to look after.
In the last 20 minutes Tollitt was very willing to run toward the Chesterfield goal time and again and made no effort to get back, Jones isn’t the greatest getting back either, he should sit more in the middle than pushing up to far (See reluctance to put on subs).
For Tollitt to get goals is great but it’s not enough maybe play him with Dackers,
A Lewis helps Tudonda and we don’t leak as many goals from that side of the pitch, he doesn’t rely on Jones all the time (he’s not there, stuck pushing up to far!)
Game after game it happens.
Is it DA’s reluctance to put on subs costing us as the opposition make 2-4 changes around 60 mins and those fresh legs are telling so much in the last third of the game. I think Macadam and White played well but just ran out of steam.
Unbelievably after that it not something you should not be able to sort out and yes it’s dire but not irreversible.

Don't even get me started I started watching the season before promotion to the NPL I've seen all the good times and the very bad times and I'm just about done!!!

I can cope with been bottom of the league and lacking quality but it's the absolute shower of shit that we are off the pitch. There is no fight, desire or passion to sort this out just be quiet like good children and wait for the sale that will never happen. Even if it does happen we are fucked with sarbjot!!
If we go under we are such a shower we could never organise ourselves to get set up as a phoenix club there will always be some excuse were too small, we don't have the money etc or we will all sit in the exchange arguing with each other for two hours!!?

I've been following a lot of north West counties teams this season most of them are run by committees but are run really, really well, even if we restarted in the NWCL we would struggle because of the pitch they are run better than us!
