Update on the sale from the Shrimps Trust

Update from the Shrimps Trust...

They've had an update from Whittingham..."the sale is still progressing, albeit slowly. While I appreciate this is frustrating for everyone, myself included, we are making every effort to bring the acquisition to a conclusion.

There were 2 meetings with the EFL last week and they clarified what was now required from the Buyer in order to ensure we can move to completion.

The Buyer is in the process of finalising the requirements and working with the Club and me as Seller."

I've read that, I would have been more optimistic if it was a statement from the EFL or even a joint statement from all parties in the process, just from the man with no new name yet, well that is not filling you with hope is it.

Why are meetings being set up with the EFL? Can't recall any other club having this many problems trying to get a deal over the line.

Hi its Jason Trotter here.. I have a potential buyer of my club . What does he need to do and provide to pass the fit and proper test that passed a few years ago?

A little moment later (3 months ) it still rumbles on

How many times have we heard this twaddle before from Whittingham? Same old crap regurgitated. In the unlikely event that there is a buyer I dread to think who they are when they are allegedly spending that level of money and can’t even get the admin sorted out. Utter rubbish I’m afraid.

I think there is somebody, haven't the efl confirmed as much? Good chance it's just another cowboy with a big plan to squeeze a few quid out of the club before chucking what's left onto the scrap heap. I'd be amazed if it's somebody who's in it for the love of football or the town.

If his statement that a buyer is working with him and the club to further the sale then presumably the directors are aware of this and part of the process. Maybe a short statement from someone at the club would either confirm or deny that what he is saying is the truth. Or are they forbidden from even that level of communication to the supporters?

Sarbjot was trying to buy the club more than 18 months ago.

Has it taken the EFL more than 18 months to explain what is required before a sale can be approved???

Alternatively...

Is Whittingham is simply spreading more Bull Sh*t???

I know which one I think most likely.

Nightingale Hall Farm. Difficult to forget the smell and the virtually open wagons of rotting animal carcasses bouncing through Lancaster.

I like to think he wouldn't jump ship so soon as he clearly knew what he was getting into this time. That being said, I was surprised he came back at all so wouldn't be surprised if he has a favourable contract that gives him the freedom to leave quite easily.

Don't see enough of that fantastic large banner pre games for ne. Accy do use theirs nearly every game. Our players need a lift and seeing that might put a wee bit more fire in their bellies knowing that the fans are right behind them as we all strive for a winning team

Derek talking in an interview about January and that he wants the ownership issue resolved so he can d some deals in January.

If Derek has started to talk about money and new ownership and the January transfer window, with 10 games before January should we be worried. Or is it just natural to think ahead?

Can't really read anything into this as Derek made it clear that when he rejoined "he didn't want to know what was going on off the pitch" as the goings on off pitch were the reason he left in the first place. So he probably doesn't know anymore than us! I'll be amazed if any sale happens before the January window.

Well hope Jason is pleased with his budget and asking price
That’s another defeat and probably another 200k off the asking price he needs to sell before we become ;) worthless unless that’s his plan ;)
