He’s not paid the wages of the firm he bought, in the midlands, for months, well we could have been out of the league by the end of the season. The wheels have finally come off!! No wonder at the forum the only thing that was said for certain, was SJ would not be buying the Club.

TFFT. It does beg the question what the heck was going on when he came up with the funds to purchase shares in the club several months ago? We can only speculate who was behind all that! The saga continues.

Having read that 'X' post. All I can see is he wasn't trading. Nothing about shady dealings.

It seems Johal has a new pet project to keep him occupied.. he's been in Zimbabwe for the last few days, to quote him...

"I had the honour of spending the last few days with His Excellency the Vice President of Zimbabwe, Governor of the Reserve Bank and members of cabinet to receive their support and assistance in delivering one of my largest off shore projects."

Does that remind you of another Walter Mitty character...?

There is no buyer yet.....there's a potential buyer!! And whoever they are it's not good news for us if they cannot get through the EFL 'fit and proper owner' test after more than 3 months (again).
I for one hope Sarbjot stays in Africa, well away from our club.

Deal obviously been rejected. Appeal and gagging order ongoing I'd say. What a mess

I'm not sure that we heard that the original application by Sarbjot was rejected officially, it was just assumed that it had been due to the length of time. I tend to agree with Wild Bill that, due to length of time, this one has been rejected as well. If it has then I'm happy with that as we'd be in as much sh*t as we're in now. Twittingham has to realise that his dreams of selling for far more than the club is worth are not going to come into fruition.

With the lack of any meaningful information on the the club's ownership and sale, we can only speculate on what's been going on.

My own theory is that Johal was nothing more than a front guy who was seen as someone fit and proper. When it became obvious that there needed to be legitimate source of funds, an EFL application was never submitted. Instead, some companies were created and the takeover was delayed until there was a paper trail to meet the EFL's fit and proper test.

Due to the bad feeling towards Johal, a decision was made to use a different front guy but keep their identity hidden until an actual application was submitted and approved. Things though didnt go to plan and potentially it has since been rejected.

Due to the money behind the proposed buyer though, an appeal has been launched and all parties forbidden to discuss the situation until the appeal process has concluded.

Of course this is just wild speculation, but if it's anyway true, it puts us in a really difficult position. Even if the deal is rejected, do we have time to sell to an alternative before the January window closes and bring in 2-3 players to keep us up?

Worrying times.

I don’t think any submission has been rejected as I don’t think there is a time limit on the application, it’s just on hold because they cannot satisfy the EFL governance on passing new ownership rules.

In the meantime we as a club is suffering, I still don’t know why the potential buyers have not come out publicly to say who they are. It’s probably understandable if it other associates of Johan’s because it’s will basically be an updated bid from last time.

If it is someone new who entered the fray, to me the silence is baffling.

Jason cannot be in a hurry, he definitely isn’t interested in other bids.

I understand it is the same people from the midlands that surrounded Sarbjot when he tried and failed to buy the club. It's the same deal as previously but with different front men. Worrying times!

My understanding is the same as yours fulwood. Worrying times for the EFL as well. With a Regulator on the horizon they have to get this one right. Surely we can see that anyone connected with Sarbjot is not prepared to fund the club as it should be.

If anyone is thinking we could have new owners by the January transfer window...forget it. It won't happen.

Some of these Indian 'businessmen' may be quite wealthy individuals but I agree it is very worrying the degree of secrecy surrounding them and the fact that none of them appear to be able to pass the EFL fit and proper persons test. When Johals name was made public he was quickly outed as a person to be wary of. Perhaps the latest would be incumbents don't want the same level of scrutiny.

Are they honest to goodness football fans or are there darker motives yet to be revealed? Perhaps we may never find out.

I’m away down under till Dec and will miss the planned protest at the match on Sat so I hope it goes well, but as I have said many times on this platform why are the prospective new owners not coming forward? Is that something that should make us have cause for concern? because it bloody well does do!

So while the protest is against the current owner I think a chant should be included of ‘WHO ARE YEH’ directed at those who are supposedly try to buy the Club.

If they had meetings with the EFL, who told them what is needed to make a successful application weeks ago, why is it so hard for them to put their evidence together?

For me it does not bode well, if they are still at what should be a late stage, they want to keep their identity secret.
