But that's just me. Tribal stuff aside I actually think both new kits are smart - they may have dropped a clanger picking one that is so obviously 'Gooners' (will ManU, Liverpool etc fans buy it, never mind Spurs?) but the actual designs are quite good.

FFS; My other team is Morecambe??? :evil:

Morecambe are RED+WHITE! (thats a fact!)...and always will be.

The shirt has the "Puma" brand.....sponsored by "Bench" in big (F.O.) letters!

Oh yea! It's got a Morecambe BADGE on it too!.........<screams at top of voice>

It's a Gooner shirt, everyone said so.

'Always will be'?? Not when my numbers come up. Very smart white shirt with shrimp rampant standing on a ball, mate. ;)

going along with Glens thoughts I don't like us playing in blue:-

Morecambe = Red & White
Lancaster = Blue

If you wore a blue shirt round here people would tink that City had actually found themself a fan :o

As soon as the dark blue appeared the other night there was a general sigh of relief around the room that the light blue had gone and the Wembley blue was back :D

What I found weird was watching us in the red shirt and the blue shorts ;)

We were granted special permission by The Football League to display the commemorative badges:

Prefered the badge when the crest and the Morecambe FC scroll at the bottem were seperate. Not complaining mind, the new one looks good too.

John L
" We should just wear it as its a Morecambe shirt regardless of Man U /Lliverpool etc connections "

Well said mate - spot on !

I used to like Bench years ago, perhaps not quite so 'trendy & new' these days but still a reasonably cool top ..... or not ?

I think Bench as a shirt sponsor is quite high profile for a club at our level. Not my sort of thing though.

Regarding the club badge, can we at some point get the town motto "health abounds, beauty surrounds" put back on the top of the crest? BBC sport always use this version of the badge, though it has not been used on the shirts since the early 90's I think.

Historical Kits: Morecambe

A few shirts that I can think of missing from the above site:

Horrible kit made by "Baysport" with Ambulink UK as shirt sponsor. Possibly 1998-99
Shirt with The Visitor as the sponsor, early 90's
Shirt made by Pony with Oasis Entertainments as the sponsor, possibly 1997-98

I reckon Bench is a cool and well known brand to have on our "collectable" shirt.

With due respect to sponsors, who do a fantastic job, If you look at the names on league 2 shirts over the last season how many are memorable? In fact from the last 12 months how many of these names can you put to a team/club shirt :roll: - some are obvious of course :lol:

I've got that shirt and it's the roughest/coarsest material you will ever wear! Don't put it on after an hour on the beach :lol:

Might be a while yet, according to a letter I have received the Club are looking for a sponsor for the back of the shirt and a sponsor for the back of the shorts, as well as the warm up tops. Anybody fancy a go?

Bench are a fantastic sponsor. I know we have their stuff in the shop, but around manchester, and I daresay many other places, they are one of the more popular names you see people wearing. I'd not be surprised if we sell a few outside of the football community.

Yes it would be nice to see our shirts hanging in the Bench store in Manchester Trafford Centre :D - There you go MFC they would probably fetch more £££ down there :roll:
