Wembley

Wembley

Postby P/T Indie » Tue Jun 09, 2009 2:55 pm

Only in this country could we build a national stadium which you can only get to on public transport and then not run any public transport.

Wembley should have never been re built there in the first place. They finally had a chance to move it from been a lump of concrete in the middle of nowhere to somewhere more accesable but the FA blazer brigade bottled it.

Rant over

Nice one Phil, for those of you not sure what the rant is about i presume it is the tubes on strike for tomorrow night 8-)

It will be ok because the FA have limited the tickets to 75000 !

Wembley should have never been demolished[criminal & treasonous] they should have kept it like a national treasure, listed building etc and still played the FA Cup finals there

and if anything a new national stadium should have been built in the middle of the country

but anyways nothing surprises me in this country anymore we have no self respect we've had our pride taken away by student liberal do-gooders hell bent on political correctness, trying to be self-righteous, when in reality there patronizing and itself racist

I wouldn't have a clue how to get to Wembley apart from train

Somewhere near the M1/M6/M42 junctions would have been perfect

The buses round the North Circular would be the best bet - however with everyone else using their cars it will be a nightmare. I used to live round that area.

Taxi drivers and minibus companies will make a fortune.

BZ mate.
3 lines, bit of dodgy grammar and spelling, but it just about sums up the state of this country.
Lord Rumba of Rio, according to Radio 5, is now the most powerful man in the country.
We should be really worried.

Pray, tell. What had any of that crap got to do with the fact the Tube drivers are on strike, causing major problems for fans trying to get to a football game?

On one hand you are saying we should have kept the crumbling old Wembley (in the same location as the new one with the same useless transport links) purely because its a 'national treasure' yet you would rather the FA had built a new national stadium in the middle of the country as it may have been a bit easier to get to? How sentimental would you get dreaming of a cup final at a place like Solihul?!

Wembley has its faults but as football fans we couldn't dream of a better location for a big match or a cup final.

What you have said their is quite funny. The edit and delete buttons can be used after sobering up

Anyone see the hilarious Stewart Lee stand-up on political correctness? Excellent stuff. Definitely one to recommened. Those who feel their racism has been unfairly reduced by 'political correctness' might not want to watch.

I think Jimmy Greaves summed it up very well at half-time.

It's probably my hearing but every time Becks touched the ball it sounded as though the crowd got on his back.

I thought they were urging him to shoot as he has never scored at Wembley. No doubt we will find out tomorrow.

Andora were shocking to not even try and get in Englands half is unacceptable.

However in the past we would have still only just scrapped a sloppy 2v0win last night we showed a lot more creativity and passed it around well taking the game to them.

They could'nt get Greavsies interview finished quick enough. Wondered why anyone would pay to watch such a game and he thought his team from 1966 could have beaten them (even 43 years later) they were so bad
