Predictions for the Bury game

Predictions for the Bury game

Postby HALMA 1983 » Wed Aug 20, 2008 6:40 am

Can we bounce back in style or will the Bishop/Morrell partnership put the shakers on that?

your thoughts and final score, i'll go for 1-1 O'Carroll to score.

Bury look quite good this year IMO and will be full of confidence after their win at Chesterfield.

Sorry, but I can't see anything other than a Morecambe defeat here. 3-0 to Bury.

Shrimps to win 2-1 as long as we pick the best players

Roche

Parrish Artell Bentley Howard/Yates if Howard is unfit

Wainwright Stanley Drummond Curtis

Twiss

Howe

Subs Davies O'Carroll Carr McStay Blinkhorn

I think the players will be just as disappointed with the performance on saturday as we were but saturday has gone and we look to the future. I would be very surprised if we play that bad again all season so last seasons away form was excellent and i feel that Sammy would of told them a few home truths. my team would be
Roche
Parrish Bentley Artell Adams

Wainwright Stanley Drummond Curtis

Howe Blinkhorn

I know this wont happen but IMO that would be a very strong side.

If we start with the team from Saturday, 2-0 to Bury.

The inclusion of Stanley and O'Carroll and a better game from Adams then maybe a 2-1 Win for the Shrimps.

I would also like to see O'Carroll and Howe in partnership, with a midfield of Wainwright, Drummond, Stanley (or Carr), Twiss (or Curtis).

I voted for Danny as player of the year last season but from what I've seen pre-season and heard from Saturday (I was on hols) I'd replace him with Yates or McStay (unless MH is fully match fit) until he sheds some weight and conforms to the training schedule every other player is forced to observe.
While he's playing well then excuses will always be made about his weight and his performance in training. When he's not playing well then questions about those aspects are bound to surface, and so they should.

I think you'll find it was 2-1 to Bury last time out at Gigg Lane.
Don't expect the kind of display we gave at your place last season. Alan Knill has sorted the squad out and after the first 2 league games of the year, we're looking fantastic. We killed Chesterfield off in the first half last week and Brentford never had a chance the week before.
Don't forget we've signed last seasons second best goalie in the league (Wayne Brown), our defence and midfield look solid, and Andy Morell is looking sharp despite his age, and has already opened his account in his first league game.
The only way you'll come away with even 1 point is if we have a VERY bad day.

Up the Shakers!!!

I think you ve picked about the best team we could muster at the moment. :) I think Hunter deserves to be on the bench though.

I think we will keep it tight for about 60 mins without creating anything, and then concede and then lose a couple more late goals chasing the game.

3-0 Bury

I agree and they have a very good fast right winger apparently

If we play the same team we did last Saturday, Bury will win by at least 3 goals, if not more. Drop Adams, Parrish, Artell, McLachlan, Carr, Hunter and Blinkhorn and it *might* be a different story.

If you are right, Glen, Score/Scorers/Goaltimes - you will have won enough from a £10 stake to....
Pay off your mortgage,
Put kids through uni,
Retire,
and even with change sign Andy Bishop as a gift to the club.

Come on Glen, get down to the bookies quick, you know you want to

marky i think it a bit extreme to drop that many players just over the performance of 1 game  i dont think we should drop hunter because he will provide us with ALOT of energy from midfield because he works his socks off every single game. I think parrish should start again on saturday. and i think blinkhorn should be dropped, not because hes played bad, just because i think we should try out O'carrol and Howe upfront. And not sure who we should start in CM with hunter, drummond carr or stanners. But i dont think Twissy should not start either.
