Christie's Challenge - Completed!

Re: ***UPDATE*** Christie Cat's Challenge

Postby Christies Challenge » Mon Mar 29, 2010 8:08 pm

For those of you who don't like to follow links, here's the challenge, I think you'll agree that for a cat 6.2 miles is quite a effort so please please dig deep and support Christie!

Christie Cat is in Training!

His objective? - The 2010 Bupa Great Manchester Run on May 16th.

In this Final season of football at the 89 year old home of the shrimps, Christie Park, Christie Cat plans to give his namesake a fitting farewell by taking on the punishing streets of Manchester and running 10km in aid of the local charity, CancerCare.

He is depending upon you, the fans of Morecambe Fc to help him make this a fitting tribute to the Pie by raising as much money for CancerCare as we can.

So please dig deep and give generously.

Big thanks to CC, Outsider, Barry and Drink duff for their donations.

this is your own club mascot and a local charity that helps over 1500 local people every year.

£50 is a start but I really hope you guys can do better than this.

Please, please support Christie and sponsor his run.

Thank you to everyone who helped with the collection today, your time and efforts are very much appreciated!
Massive thanks to everyone who contributed to the collection, we raised £360.
That brings the total so far to £445, nearly halfway to the target of £1000.

please keep the donations coming via the justgiving website, the run is 5 weeks away so plenty of time to break through the target!

On a lighter and more happier note following yesterdays disaster on the pitch...

Christie reached the end of yesterdays Great Manchester run in a time of 1hr 8 mins followed very closely by his training partner, Graham Davis in a time of 1hr 14 (fantastic effort for his first ever 10km race)

Christie waited at the finish line so that they could skip across the line together in an Eric Morecambe style pose!

Thanks to everyone who donated to CancerCare, it's still not to late to contribute, just visit the web link below.

Understatement of year!

going out towards old trafford wasn't too bad because there was a nice breeze blowing fresh air into my face but coming back with the wind behind me, I was getting no fresh air. I nearly passed out at one point!

Hope you hit your target.

Original target was maybe a little overreaching! I was wanting to raise £1000, we are currently on half of that.
