Seeing how the original title has been changed so many times I wasn't quite sure if the following warranted its own header or not. However as unusual as it is for me NOT to start a new thread that is in a way already being contributed to, here goes! :o :o :o

It looks as though reading on Fans Forum that a number of SVs seem convinced that a deal to bring one of Sammy's perennial targets to the club could finally be bearing fruit. This select band of 'informed' supporters seem to be under the impression that Andy Bishop has packed his bags and is re-routing his Sat Nav in the direction of The Globe Arena.

As much as I'd like it to happen, I'm concerend that the AB whose goalscoring records of past seasons stands favourable scrutiny against the best in the Division, may not be the same threat as he was due to a series of injury problems over the last season or so.

IF it does materialise that AB wears a red shirt again then let's hope that his injuries have cleared to enable a superb goalscoring partnership of AB, PJ and PM to terrorise the living daylights of opposition defences this coming season.

It's only a well documented rumour at the moment, but it could materialise into something more.

:) :) :)

I also thought that Andy Bishop would never come to Morecambe. but after a chat with a certain Person today ;)

I will have a £10 bet with anyone on here that he is a Morecambe player by the start of the season.

The Bury fans are divided on Andy, some negatively reflecting on the season just gone, which considering his injury problems is harsh!

My concern is that IF we get him, I hope that it hasn't taken a bucket full of cash plus a high, if not a record breaking salary which could be to the detriment of bringing in other signings.

P.S. Lost count of the number of headers this thread has had.

Andy Bishop is on £3k a week if the rumours are to be believed. Good player, but nobody is that good at this level. For the same amount you could get bring three quality players to the club that aren't recovering from a serious injury.

Maybe he's not the prolific striker he was when we tried to get him from York :? After his hernia op he only managed 3 goals in 12 games. Has he fully recovered . :?:

That is not correct according to one of my Bury contacts. It is actually just less than half that amount but he can earn more with win bonuses, goals scored etc.

He will be on something rather like Twissy was on here.

Leave it to Sammy, he knows what he's doing.

I find it incredible that so many think they know how much some players are earning.

Personally I doubt if anybody other than the player himself and a Board member know the terms of any deal including weekly salary.

And that's the way it should be. Sod this urge for transparency.
