Just noticed that Liam Chilvers is on the free transfer list having been released by PNE. Centre back, 28, loads of experience and a former Arsenal youth player. Don't know about wages though...

Pablo Mills has been let go by rotherham, sign him on, he is a great player at this level and probley would be at league one as well, can play centre back, defensive mid and centre mid. :D

That is not correct according to one of my Bury contacts. It is actually just less than half that amount but he can earn more with win bonuses, goals scored etc.

He will be on something rather like Twissy was on here.

Leave it to Sammy, he knows what he's doing.

Evening Shrimpers,

You are correct Bish is not on 3K. Some of our less intelligent fans use that figure as a stick to beat the lad with. He has had injuries and has struggled to get back to fitness. I'm sure the majority of shakers are hoping he can come back strong for next season.
If you do sign him I'm sure Sammy Mac will give him any support he needs and you will benefit by seeing a very good player.

Shrimps, mate! or am I on the Southend message board

We know all about Bish mate, from his York days.
Mate of Stanners if I'm not mistaken.
How much do you reckon Bury will want? he's still under contract til 2012 isn't he?

Last close season all the talk was about the possible signing of Michael Gash who ended up at York, who hasn't exactly set the world on fire at York.

This time around I'd like all the talk to be about us going after Richard Brodie, Gash's team mate at York and reckoned by many to have an enormous future ahead of him. In fact if it was a choice between him or Bishop, i'd prefer Brodie...but Bishop would do!

Somehow though I suspect that both will not be making a regular appearance at The Globe.

;) ;) ;)

Mark Lynch , defender , has been released by Rotherham.

A decent defender with an eye for goal as shown by 2 left footers against us the season before last.

I believe he was the one we were due to sign last season only for the deal to fall through.

he would be very usefull, and a bonus being left-footed he would gives up more options and be excellent cover for Wilson also allowing Wilson to replace Randle if he got injuried to shuffle things about

Another for the list - Tadgh Purcell. Refused to sign new contract with Darlington and looked very good when he got some service.

As this important thread was in danger of dropping off the bottom of the page  .........

I spoke this morning to a pal of mine who is a Bury season ticket holder, and his view of Bishop - "He's been a shadow of his former self the last 18 months - I'd be glad to see him off the wage bill" :o

....like Roche at Chesterfield, for example. I think most players look forward to a fresh challenge at a new club.... maybe Bishop would do that here?

Bishop has been injured. I presume your mate missed that?
