THE BIG TRANSFER THREAD: errupted more than Eyjafjallajökull

Aaron Taylor gets a run out for Workington Town against Gretna after impressing in pre-season training.

Note the bit about Paul Murray. Decent player I remember, former England Under-21 player too, then disappeared to Portugal. Worth a look?

I fell for that one oh and Stuart Fleetwood I am surprised nobody bigger than Hereford went for him really am.
He scored alot of goals before his transfer to Charlton and you don't become a bad player overnight.
Yes you do if your Rene Howe

Ben is a good player, I was at college with him and I'm suprised he didnt get more chances in the first team this year!

Jonathan Smith signed for York City http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/footbal ... 794494.stm.

One player who we may regret letting go. Forest Green Rovers fans reckon he's easily Football League quality and York City fans can't believe they've got him so easily.

I was a bit shocked when we released him, one of the early signs that Sammy didn't really use youth players, glad to see him making a step-up from the shambles that is Forest Green.

Apparently Bury lost 4-2 to Wexham this afternoon in a pre-season game behind closed doors. No idea if Bishop played or not!

he first caught my eye playing in the Champions Youth Cup final for Man United against Juventus but that was the only game id seen him play in that competition, but apparently he was the player of that tournament, a right little speed demon and skillful he can also play as a winger

alright for nothing, well worth a contract seeing we've only got two recognized strikers at the club.

It's always surprised me that Sammy hasn't gone after some of the youngsters released by Man Utd. With his involvement in MUTV and no doubt internal contacts you would have thought that we'd have signed somebody from United during Sammy's tenure to date.

:?: :?: :?:

According to a post on The Fans Forum, we've been linked with Wrexham's Andy Fleming. Can't say I know much about the lad.

he's been a fee agent for a good month now and nobody as gone for him, plus he's been loaned out and played for L1 clubs before so why not try a local L2 club close to Manchester, and more importantly he as got more chance of 1st team football with us to develop the rest of his game

Well good thing is alot of talented footballers are either struggling to get clubs due to wages demands like Clinton Morrison ( Charlton) want him but he is demanding 8,000 a week we can only afford 2,000 a week.
And strugging due to not many clubs can have good budgets in transfer and wages so players have to reduce what they earn.
In my opinion I think Morecambe will sign 3 players and probably another 2 on loan at Morecambe we do have a good midield maybe some cover in wide areas in defence and off course a center forward

21 year old who was playing First Division football last season has to be worth a look you would think?

I went down to the globe today and had a right good nosey around, I would imagine it beyond belief that any lower league player in our sights could fail to be impressed, I think with 4 new squad members to complement our present team and a good start to the season, players will be ringing us in january window, the overall, everything in one place feel will give players and fans alike, a very positive buzz :!:

I saw this lad play in the same tournaments and would definitely sign him up.
Speedy little chap who would thrive off the supply of an experienced midfield.

I mentioned Febian Brandy a good number of weeks ago as a possible signing. Pacey and will be a real handful for defenders, not to mention the link between Sammy and his fromer club.

I'd have thought that he would be a decent signing for us. But does Sammy think so???

no doubt SM will know he's avalible but i can see Sammy wanting to trial him first when we get these pre-season friendly's going then make his mind up

but it's risky game to play somebody could snap him up in the meantime
