I see Dickov's bringing his own men in at Oldham - and as a result he's just released Rob Purdie and Joe Colbeck, two players I always liked the look of when they played against us for Hereford/Darlo and Bradford.

Wasn't he that little tit who dived all over the place when he had genuine goalscoring opportunities when we played MK Dons at home?

Southport striker Chris Simm is attracting attention from an un-named league 2 club. He looked very good against us in a pre-season friendly last season :-

Apparently we're interested in Scott McLaughlin, a defensive midfielder at Airdrie United. Check out the last sentence of the article at the foot. One of interest to Morecambe and two former Morecambe players. Yes, you read it right, Ryan McCann is on trial at MK Dons.

just got this off wikipedia

Full name Scott Bonner McLaughlin
Date of birth 20 January 1984 (1984-01-20) (age 26)
Place of birth Glasgow, Scotland
Height 5 ft 9 in (1.75 m)
Playing position Midfielder

McLaughlin played in centre midfield for Greenock Morton. He is a defensive minded midfielder and his main role in the team is to 'sit' in front of the defence and break up opposition attacks. However he also likes to move forward with the ball and has a fairly powerful shot from long distance.

sounds right up our street, he would be good company for Will Haining, tartan army n all that

Probably at that time, we needed more experience in the squad to get us promoted :?: but for me we should have kept him and allowed him to develop under the tutorship of Mark L.

Well you never know in football but if he is good Barrow might offer him first team football and could Morecambe match that
