now it could just be me ( and most of the time it is) but I've been doing the usual look at who's come in and who's gone out, look at who we've retained etc etc. then something dawned on me, and like I say I could be completely wrong, but is this, or is this not the strongest squad in Morecambe Football Club's history. I know we are about to get a few more in, who will even add to it, but just look at the players we've got. I'd love to see training, because the competition for places is going to be fierce, I just don't see too many lads making up the numbers.

the gloom of the summer and having to watch cricket and tennis and pretend I enjoy it is lifting to reveal a team that might just be..well....quite good. :?

no its not just you darren I also feel the same ... if you look at the team that beat kendal on tuesday and the players who were missing we are assembling a very very strong squad ...the excitement builds and in another nine days the rollercoaster will begin again and I for one cant wait

if we do sign him, then well done to him for coming up here and giving it a go on trial when there are plenty of teams nearer that he could have tried. I've heard nothing but good things about him, let's hope he's singing out of a wheelybin sometime soon.

Do Hendrie and Spencer look good haven't been to any of the friendlies?
I think we still need to sign a striker that has got league 2 experience :!:

No chance.

Don't forget James Lawrie...he's experience at our level and is a NI International.

Don't know much about him.I really like big strikers that hold the ball up and i think jevons likes a big striker a long side him.like a young Barry conlon or mullin

it's all about tic tacs! dont judge a striker only by his goals from a team point of view.

So what's the news about Henry, Lawrie and Simpson?

Are we signing any of them?

Are there other trialists in the frame?

With less than a week to go now, is Sammy happy with his squad?

4 goals in 4 games including a hat trick. He must feel he's done enough to earn a contract. We are short of attacking options and have nothing to lose by signing him.

Especially with Spencer only on loan for 6 months. I think one more striker is a MUST.

certainly need another striker on a permanent contract, we only have Jevons & Mullin on the books and Spencer is only on a six month loan deal

Plus a goal keeper Sammy said on the radio on Tuesday they would have a keeper signed up in the next couple of days anyone know it's not happened he seemed confident that it was a done deal.

Wouldn't surprise me if it's the ex Cambridge Utd goalkeeper trialist and young striker Hendrie (or should that be Henry... ) OR possibly the Northern Ireland International striker Lawrie.
