I don't buy that. It's the same excuse that got trotted out the last couple of seasons but every club brings in new players in the close season, they don't all struggle. What we never do is start a season with the same system as we finished the previous one. THAT is disruptive and takes time to gel.

if i remember correctly when we went on that amazing wining run last season what took us to a 4th place finish we played 4 4 2

then in that 1st leg play-off match we went defensive 4 5 1 = hammered 6 - 0

then when we won the return leg we had 4 4 2 and looked a better team

So how did that work out then?

Oxford have scored more today against us than we've managed to score so far this season :?

Oxford hadn't won so far this season.

His discipline was a huge problem at Chester. As someone said at the time 'the worse the side performs the worse his discipline gets'.

Sammy was forced into making changes last season by injuries and this was what changed our season around and we went on a 12 game run with a threadbare side not being able to name 7 subs in some games, we can all see whats wrong so why can't he???

4-4-2 Sammy come on!!

Worst player for discipline last season, the only player getting double figures for bookings. I wouldn't mind if he got booked for crunching tackles but most are silly bookings which can be avoided. I hope Sammy has a word, before the booking it was 2-0, he gets sent off, lose 4-0 and now our only left back is out for the next game. Needs to take a bit of responsibility for his team-mates.

On a positive note..
We always take at least 1 whipping a season
Now its out the way, we can actually start winning games.
Hopefully the team will now wake up and start realising there potential.

Poor result overall sounds like we didn't create many chances, If any at all. As previously said by others i think 451 is a bad formation for us to play. Personally i don't think Jevons can play upfront on his own. If your playing a lone striker you need someone who, A: Is as fast as Usain or B: Is great at holding the ball up. For me Jevons is neither of these. I think it is Vital that he plays Upfront with someone else. I.E Mullin. Someone big and strong to get the flick on's or hold it up for someone else.

The team we have has the ability and the talent i just don't think sammy is utilising his players very well. I would like too see 442 played away and 41212 at home.

Disappointing but it was always going to be a tough game.

Wilson needs to learn to calm down during games. When he made the tackle, the game was already a lost cause and he'd been booked already so there was no need - just anger and frustration. Sort of understandable but he's a professional and it's not really on.

Hope Jevons is ok. I consider him, Wilson and Baz to perhaps be our best three players and we're potentially without two of them for the next game.

How did Drummond play? He comes back into the team and we get thrashed. Coincidence?
